Previous life: where I wanted to be...career woman, happily married, perfectionist, control freak, tidy house, business running like a tight ship. First child arrives, fulltime working mom, can handle it all. Current life: where I want to be...stay at home mom to a pre-teen girl and girl/boy twin preschoolers, ditched the career (had the twins at 40), perfectionism took a hike, life out of control, untidy house and trying to keep household afloat! So I'm just hanging in there!!!

a family heirloom
An acquaintance of ours is a painter. You can check out some of her work here. For quite some time I've been toying with an idea for her to paint our home with us and the kids in it. After meeting with her some time back and having her come here to discuss details, it finally arrived. A Christmas present for us all. I hope it is a piece that will remain in our family for generations to come.

It's Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing to pass on down.

Oh. My. GAWD!!! I love her work, we have two of her prints hanging in our home. But to have a personlized piece would be a dream. It is absolutly beautiful. How precious to have for you all, for always.
ReplyDeletewhat a funky painting.
ReplyDeletelove it,
hey, also lovin' your *all dolled up* outfit: how was the partee???
I love the painting! That is just so special to have a custom made piece, how wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYou just reminded me of a painting my Sister and I bought for my Mom one year, it had three kids on a toboggan sliding down a hill and we bought it thinking of us girls, then another was added to the mix and so we should buy her another with four of us in it ;)
